Just had to give it a try...

Sometimes when I see a layout, I think, "Wow, that's a really great idea - I've gotta try that!" And sometimes I wonder, "What is the point?" Well, it seems that sewing is everywhere in scrapbooking these days and I just love to sew, so I decided to try sewing over the letters in my title. What do you think? Is it a great idea, or is it silly? Either way, the new Margarita line from American Crafts is a hit! Just love the bright, cheery colors. It's so versatile; great for travel and summer and, well just about anything happy and bright. Whether you decide to sew on your pages or not, you've gotta give this line a try.

New from We R Memory Keepers

We have their new pet line, Friends Furever, in stock and on the shelf! This new adorable pet line is great for dogs and cats, whichever is your preference. There are some great companion papers in the line great for any theme, too!

Summer Memories

Hello Scrappy Chic fans :) Its Liz from the design team here to share a couple layouts featuring some fun new products from the store! First up is a mix of two lines from My Minds Eye - Hip Hooray and Lime Twist!
I love that MME uses a lot of the same color tones in their paper lines making it easy to mix lines old and new. Its a great way to use some older stuff and freshen it up with a few new products as well.

I was inspired my Fawn's post a couple weeks ago where she used these folded flowers. I will tell you that after trying to make perfect folds I went right to the store and bought the Tim Holtz die. So much easier! You get two sizes in one die!

My second layout features paper from Simple Stories. I believe this line is new to Scrappy Chic - and definitely new to me - but I am in love!

The colors are great for summer! The red and turquoise make it a fresh color combo but it also works great with my vintage photos (circa 1983!).

Here is a close up of my Basic Grey chipboard hearts. I covered them in paper and inked the edges. The scale of the hearts are great as well!

Next time you are in the store check out these great new lines to scrap some of your adventures this summer!

Have a great weekend, Liz Michaud

Smash Book Crazy

We've had so many requests for Smash Book products, and we're trying our best to keep up. While I think we're down to one folio and a couple accessories, we've already got more on order. We'll keep it comin' as long as you want it. These books make great gifts, both for kids and adults alike. I had my kids ask their friends to write on one page of their book as a memory of the end of the school year (of course, we slapped several pictures in there as well). I'm curious to see what our Design Team member, Liz, is going to do with hers. I'm sure it'll be pretty cool! If you know which Smash Book items you'd like, don't be afraid to call or stop in and let us know. We'll add your item(s) to our wish list so you have 'dibs' when they arrive.

Graphic 45 is off to see the Wizard!

We just received the newest line from Graphic 45 - the Magic of Oz! There are 12 new double-sided papers, some die-cut chipboard tags, 12x12 and 8x8 pads, and even coordinating cling stamps! Very cool stuff, my friends!

Basic Grey is Here! Woo hoo!

We have the two newest lines from Basic Grey, and they're already out on the shelf! Oxford is a classic collegiate line with a Basic Grey twist. Out of Print is a beautiful pastel line, but take a closer look and see newsprint all over it - love it!

With the new line comes the coordinating Hero Arts stamps - both in cling and clear!

Bead Sale Accelerates

How does 40% off strung beads sound? You got it! Our strung bead strands (you'll see the sign on the ones you'll want to grab at this price) are now marked way down. We'd love to have you help us make room for something else we have in mind for that section. Hint, hint. :)

What's Up, Doc?

Well, we have several new items I need to tell you about. Sorry about the wonky layout of the post - Blogger is giving me a hard time lining things up today. :) First of all, the Smash Book products sold out, came back in stock, and almost sold out again, all in a matter of a few days! Don't worry, we have more on order (again).

We received some jewelry-making dies from Sizzix. These are great to use with materials you want to make look like metal, mother of pearl, etc. Try your hand at your faux techniques without breaking the bank! We have the newest line from Pebbles: Floral Lane. The name says it all - perfect for your Spring pictures! We also received the new lines from Bo Bunny: Liberty, Zoology and Barefoot Bliss. These lines are amazing, and Bo Bunny doesn't last long around here. Get yours while you're here - we think it'll catch your eye like it did ours. Lastly, we received the new Summer line from Little Yellow Bicycle: Sweet Summertime. I must use some of this to decorate my updated bedroom - lemons and teal!

Smash It!

We finally received some of the Smash Book products - woo hoo! Just be forewarned, we only have a portion of the items for now, and I believe they'll be gone quicky. But we already have more on order that we're waiting for. In the meantime, I'd like to share a video about Smash Book that explains it a little better. I need to get one of these for a couple people, for sure!

Finally!!!

After months of cold and snow and wind and rain, we finally had a lovely weekend, didn't we? I was so excited to finally have a chance to take my bicycle out for a ride. And doesn't it figure....I got a major sunburn! Well, what can you do when your neck, arms, and legs are bright red? Ah, scrapbook of course! I headed off to my scrapbook room to finally work with the new My Minds Eye line, "American Made". It's a patriotic red, white and blue line perfect for your 4th of July holiday pages. But it's also great for lots of other pics as well. The pinwheel paper motivated me to finally try making some of those adorable pinwheel embellishments. OMG, they're SO easy. Just cut a 3" square of double sided paper. Mark the center and then cut a slit from each corner to 1/2" from the center. Place a glue dot in the center and gently fold one point from each side into the center and press it down into the glue dot. Cover with a button and viola! You have the most adorable little pinwheels ever! Quick. Easy! Cute! That was so much fun that I decided to finally pull out my new Tim Holtz paper rosette die and give it a try. If you haven't bought one of these dies, you have to check them out! They come in several sizes and are the easiest way I've found to make rosette embellishments. I thought they really added a lot to my simple page. What do you think? Summer is finally here. Enjoy it, be sure to take lots of photos of the great memories you create, and don't forget your sunscreen!

KaiserCraft Brings Two New Collections!

We have the latest from KaiserCraft (who keeps getting better and better, by the way). Pink Gelato is surprisingly cooler in person than in pictures. This light, whimsy line is sure to brighten your day. Velvet Ensemble is classic (think Graphic 45 with more of an everyday quality). The rich colors and great vintage themes are sure to be a hit. I can't forget there are new wood home decor products from KaiserCraft as well.

OMG It's Here!

"What?", you ask. It's the new Travel Light line from We R Memory Keepers! This was one of our all-time favorite picks from CHA in January. Yes, it's taken this long for it to arrive, and we couldn't be more excited. It's on the shelf already, and I need to stop by to get some for myself before it's gone. This paper and embellishment collection is a little bit vintage, little bit family, a little bit travel, and a whole lot o'fun.
