DTW here we come!

Well, the girls and I are patiently waiting to catch our plane home, happy to beat the storm. We wrapped up our orders at the show, and we're so excited about what we picked out for you. Highlights of the day: Maya Rd zippers, Spellbinders gears, Prima findings, Webster's Pages, and the list goes on. If we had an internet connection inthe airport, I'd share pictures. But, for now, you'll have to use your imagination.

CHA Day 3 Recap

Ok folks, we're starting to drag a little, hence the 'next morning' posts. :) Last night we had an event to go to, so we didn't get back until late, and we're starting to get sleepier. Anyway, yesterday was much more productive. We placed many orders, made many decisions, and oohed and ahhed over many new products. As much as I'd love to share all of our pictures, we have hundreds we've taken. So I'll share some highlights from our 3rd day.

Some of our favorite booths were Crate Paper (getting almost everything), KaiserCraft (we think you'll all love these), and one of We R Memory Keeper's lines is going to sell out, for sure! We predict October Afternoon will be another hit, even if we can only speculate on what it will look like (they notoriously don't have product samples ready for the show). Liz got plenty of pictures with her scrapbook heroes, and we ran into some Scrappy Chic friends as well (hello, Ohio!). I got to have a good chat with Suze Weinberg, which was nice.
Our event last night took us to the Conga room for drinks and tapas (Fawn's new favorite). We have one more day of show shopping left and our flight leaves tonight. We're going to make the best of today, turning in orders and tying up loose ends. Look for another blog post by tomorrow!

CHA Day 2 Recap

Well, it's early here, but time for Michiganders to wake up! We had a busy day yesterday... it started with a bang (or a group of bagpipers, however you choose to look at it), and we were on the show floor running (literally). Each of us had an assigned area to attack... I mean, visit. The girls gathered catalogs like crazy, I had appointments with sales reps, and we were working hard.
Some of the highlights were Tim Holtz' booth (very cool new products coming out of here), Pink Paislee (rosettes are everywhere this year), Little Yellow Bicycle (we love Twig), Prima (new trinkets coming soon) and Cosmo Cricket (Glubers rock).

By the end of the day, we were ready for some sushi (thinking of you, Suze!), and we headed around the corner from our hotel. We came to Tokyo Village, an open air mall, where everyone was hanging out, eating, singing karaoke. We had dinner at the Frying Fish (so glad we went there) and food and company were fantastic. We had time to wander around, do a little shopping, and still make it to bed on time.

This morning, Fawn and I are heading over the show early for some classes, so we'll try to blog again tonight.

Are you ready?! Here's a summary of CHA trip, Day 1

Well, where do I start? It all began when Liz and I almost didn't make our plane (see Liz's blog at http://www.invitesbyliz.blogspotcom/). Luckily, we ended up in 1st class (sorry, Fawn) and our delayed plane made it almost on time, even with our late checked bags! We were up pretty late last night (4am EST) and enjoyed some authentic Japanese karaoke in the hotel lounge. We're staying in Little Tokyo, and district of downtown LA... love it!

Ok, onto the good stuff. We normally don't arrive with an extra day to spare, but we needed to get here in time to take the Ranger class (Tim, Dyan, Wendy and Claudine all taught). There was some time to spare before our next scheduled classes, so we decided to head down to Hollywood for a little sight-seeing. The Metro was a quick ride, and we had plenty of time to people-watch and enjoy the sun (yes, don't be jealous). We got to see Tom Cruise, Miley Cyrus, Michael Jackson, oh... wait, they were all impersonators on Hollywood Blvd. We also saw Elvis, SpongeBob, Ariel, Darth Vader, Yoda, Marilyn Monroe, Shrek, you get the idea. After we headed back to the convention center, we each had another class and attended a manufacturer party. Oddly enough, the room the party was in overlooked the show floor! We got a sneak peek of our own. After Fawn took a couple pictures with her flash, Tim Holtz and the Ranger gang looked up and waved. We felt a little like paparazzi. But at least you get to see a cool aerial view of the show. How fun!

We'll blog again tomorrow, which is our first day on the show floor. We have a VIP event in the morning, and shopping for the store all day. Stay tuned!

We R Love Contest... We Need Your Vote on 2/1!

In case you can't read the font (kind of small, I know), you'll want to go to www.facebook.com/wermemorykeepers, then vote for us in the album "We R Love Contest" by clicking the 'like' button below our picture. The contest begins Feb. 1st!

The Calm Before the Storm

Well, it's been kind of quiet here on the Scrappy Chic blog... That's because it usually gets a little quiet before we head out to sunny California for the annual CHA trade show. We'll be making our purchasing decisions for the next 6 months' worth of products, and we are very excited! Be sure to check back here throughout the weekend for updates from the show! We like to download (figuratively) all the juicy details from our day of shopping for you to see. When we return, the new products begin to roll in. This usually starts within a couple weeks of our return, so look for even more new product on the shelves when you're in!

A couple more cartridges...

Cricut cartridges, that is. We just got in Nate's ABCs, Groovy Times, 3 Birds on Parade and Life's a Party. These are all great full cartridges that would come in handy for many, many projects!

New Bracelet Class Scheduled

Kris has been working on a very cool silver bracelet I think both jewelry- and non-jewelry makers will enjoy working on. The Buttons & Birds bracelet class will be on Wed 2/2 at 7pm - a short, 1-hour class and you'll have a complete project for only $12! Sign up to reserve your spot.

The Circus is Here!

Between the new products coming in and what's going to be released at CHA this month, I see a trend... the circus has arrived! The first line with this theme is called Animal Crackers from Imaginisce. This one is more of a whimsy, children's version of the theme - not just for scrapbooking the circus! :)

A few new Cricut Cartridges!

We have some new Cricut cartridges in store, including Disney Classics and Disney Pixar (love this one). We also have the three new seasonal ones... April Showers, Mother's Day Bouquet and Spring Holiday Cards.

Love is in the Air

American Crafts' latest line, Love, just arrived. There are several adorable papers, as well as a couple new Thickers (which you know I love). All I can say is, "I love it!"

You Need More Bling

And we've got it! There's a new line of bling embellishments from Jolee's. We think they're the cat's meow, but you be the judge. Check out their new bling next time you're in!

Flora & Fauna from K & Company

I'll admit, I'm not a floral person. But this line is so diverse (and gorgeous). Check out K & Company's latest release, Flora & Fauna - it's growing on all of us!

Happy New Year!

We hope everyone had a wonderful and memorable New Year's celebration! We're working on plans for a memorable 2011, and it involves you! Stay tuned for new classes, products and ideas as we head into a new year.
