Where's Basic Grey?

It will be at Scrappy Chic this Thursday! Now, don't get too excited... it's going to take us some time to get it all in the computer. But we'll work quickly on it (I've got help already scheduled). It looks like we'll be getting Wander, Jovial and Pyrus, among other cool new pieces. I'll update you more this week... I know, I'm so excited!

Maya Road and Crafty Secrets are here!

Maya Road sent us some amazing new products, including new chipboard albums and pieces, gorgeous flowers and, yes, the acrylic & chipboard flip albums are back in stock!

Plus, we have the new products from Crafty Secrets, just in! Their new Creative Scraps are now double-sided - more product for more fun. There are new, adorable stamps and a bunch of other crafty goodness.

I noticed yet more boxes in the doorway today, but didn't have time to open them to see what magic lies inside. I'll update you tomorrow! Be patient, grasshopper. :)

We're Still Going...

We worked on the boxes all weekend, and here's what we have so far...

The three new lines from We R Memory Keepers are adorable! Out & About is a whimsy travel line. Maple Grove is a nice twist on Fall, and Heebie Jeebies is (you guessed it) a Halloween line! We should have all of this on the shelf by Monday or so.

We also received, as I mentioned, the baby papers and embellishments from Pebbles. These would make great invitations or announcements, for sure. We also received their pet lines, which will beef up our pet section! But I didn't mention what we have from American Crafts. It's the new Enchanted line from Dear Lizzy (Elizabeth Kartchner). I know a few of you are her fans, and I think you'll like what you see!

I was surprised to see new products in boxes I thought were just reorders. We have the new Holiday line from Making Memories! This year's line, called Noel, even offers a Holiday Recipe book... The one they came out with last year was a hit, but this one's even better! The papers and embellishments are, of course, outstanding. They're already in the computer, and should also be on the shelf soon.

Saturday might be a bit busy...

With all the new stuff coming in! We received so many boxes this week, it's a tad overwhelming. We just opened up the newest release from Sizzix - a line of gorgeous dies from Rachel Bright. I'm not kidding when I say these things rival Tim's dies (shh... don't tell Tim). They have a wonderful vintage feel to them, yet seem so versatile.

We also have the 2011 Basic Grey Calendar Kits! I know many of you have been patiently waiting for these to arrive, and they are finally in stock.

Making Memories' new Halloween line, Toil & Trouble, is on the shelf. As usual, it's adorable! There are some great embellishments to accompany the adorable paper, and even an 8x8 D-Ring album to scrapbook those spooky evenings.

7 Gypsies is here, it really is! The new Conservatory and Paddington lines are a hit - selling like hotcakes already. Conservatory is for the bird-lovers, and Paddington, well - London is calling! The lines came with some great new embellishments, like gears and wings and other fun metal goodies.

We have several boxes from American Crafts we have yet to get to, although I peeked in one. I know we have the newest baby paper and embellishments from Pebbles, who has partnered with American Crafts. The others are a mystery so far. We also recevied three (yes, three) new exclusive lines from We R Memory Keepers. If you've been watching what they're doing lately, you know that their designers are doing amazing work, and we love scrapbooking with it! I'll let you know what the lines are all about once we get through the boxes this weekend.

Fighting Back

We're excited to get the new releases from Moxxie, especially because of their new line called Fighting Back. it's a full line of papers and stickers for breast cancer awareness, Relay for Life and more! It's on the shelf for you to see next time you're in...

New Nestabilities and More!

We have the new Nestabilites dies from Spellbinders - woo hoo! There are some great new shapes in this batch, I think you'll like them. We also have a bunch of new themed papers and stickers from Paper House - very nice!

A box came from Sizzix today. You can imagine our anticipation when we get them - we can't wait to open them up! What I found inside was.... a bunch of Halloween dies! I think my favorite is the 3D spider & web die... would look great in a card or kids' project!

Up All Night

Well, we held our (3rd, I think) All Night Crop last night, which ran past 6am this morning. From the reveiws I received, everyone had a great time. I stayed until after 2am, and when I left there were still at least 30 croppers going strong. From the reports I saw, it looks like about 20 people stayed until after 5am! Way to go, ladies! You are some serious scrapbookers. The nacho bar was delicious, as were the cupcakes, watermelon and cake, too. There was plenty of coffee, of course, as well.

I normally leave my camera and have pictures to show you, but forgot this time. If any of you have pictures (including any of the conga line I heard about), you can email them to me and I'll post them! Thanks go out to everyone who participated, and the girls who worked Saturday. It was a long day, but you did great!

My Oh My!

Well, we just got back from our little MI family vacation, and I stopped by the store. It really looks like the girls were buried by an avalance of boxes! Between making room for the new stuff, and receiving it, there's just a ton. So I made a list to share with you of all the new stuff I saw while I was there. Here it goes...

Little Yellow Bicycle's BooVille Halloween collection (ready for sale)
Cosmo Cricket: Togetherness, Pixie-Licious, Mitten Weather, Tiny Type numbers (love these!), Matilda (Halloween) and they brought back Wanted! We should have this out by the end of the weekend.
Stampendous: New cling stamps, tiny pails, embossing supplies and more! - working on this one Friday.
New card supplies and embellishments from the company who creates Ruby Rock-It (in the box)
QuicKutz: Magnetic Storage Books are back in stock (still in the box)
SEI's Fall line is here, and is gorgeous - on the shelf.
Graphic 45: We have Steampunk Debutante, new Christmas line extension and new embellishments (still in the box)
SugarTree: new to our store, tons of themed papers (on the shelf).
My Mind's Eye: Lost & Found is delicious, really! And it's ready to purchase (which I'll be doing tomorrow).
Jenni Bowlin: This one snuck past me... Family Tree line and new embellishments are on the shelf!
KaiserCraft: Up, Up & Away, Lush and 'Tis the Season are all here, but still in the box for now.
Jillibean Soup: New papers, embellishments, corrugated alphas and more (should be out this weekend).
Best Creation: All new winter papers with glitter... ooh! This should also be out this weekend.

I'll be sending out our newsletter tomorrow (hopefully, if I can unpack in time), so keep an eye out for that with some images. Enjoy!

Blogging from western MI

I haven't blogged in a few days... the family and I are enjoying some much-needed time together in western Michigan. When I last checked in at the store, the girls said there was so much new stuff that they can't keep up with the boxes! Cindy did mention we received the new Lost & Found line from My Mind's Eye... this was one of our favorites at CHA. I'll update more this weekend after we return. In the meantime, you can be the first to know by stopping into the store.

Need Your Feedback

Have you heard of Karen Russell, who teaches photography to scrapbookers? Her website is www.snapshotsofagoodlife.com. I'm trying to guage whether or not we'd have enough participants to invite her to fly out and teach at our store in 2011. I'd like to know if you would consider participating in an all-day, full-fledged photography class for $135 (it would probably be on a Saturday). I'd love to hear your response. You can either respond here or email me at chris@scrappychiclivonia.com. Her website offers a lot of information on the photography end of things...

New Tattered Angels

Before I forget, I wanted to write a quick entry to let you know we now have the new Tattered Angels Chalkboard colors, which add (you guessed it) a chalk/glimmer finish. We also have (drumroll, please) the new Glimmer Glaze paints! It's been quite some time since we ordered them, but Tattered Angels finally has them in production! Check out the new display next time you're in.

It's only August...

And we are already getting Christmas orders in! We have a large assortment of beautiful Christmas products from K & Company. Last year their line similar to this was hard to keep on the shelf. Hopefully you all get a chance to choose yours before they sell out.

We'll be updating our seasonal aisle soon since we need to make room for the new Fall & Winter products we have coming in, so keep an eye on that area (and the clearance section) for some great products and deals.

In with the New...

We have a bunch of new ribbon spools from May Arts... absolutely beautiful! We also received an enourmous shipment from Reminisce. Talk about filling in some themes.... there's Autumn Forest, Gingerbread Lane, Making the Grade, Real Magic (think Disney), the Moon Shine Crew (Halloween), Wave Crashers and a ton (I mean a ton) of themed stickers and dimensional embellishments to match the papers.

Speaking of themes, we also received a huge order from Karen Foster, including a new little boy & girl line, Pregnancy, tons of baby's first items, school, dogs & cats and more. Plus, there's a very cool 3D Peek-a-Box that would look super cool altered! It's pretty large and has removeable drawers.

Signs of Spring and Fall???

Even though we're deep in Summer, we have the new Birds & Bees dies from QuicKutz. There's also an amazing new collector's set called Special Delivery. This new limited-edition gift set includes 26 shapes and one mini alphabet, including a variety of card dies, borders & mats, labels, tabs, and exclusive stitching dies. Everything you need to create delightful handmade cards! You can find images of all of the new dies, as well as product ideas, at http://www.quickutz.com/.

We also have an adorable new Fall line from Imaginisce called Apple Cider. These cute new papers have some varnish on them, giving them a leg up on the others... super-fun embellishments! Stop in to see the new line and a sample made with them.

New Cricut Cartridges

I forgot to mention... while we were at CHA, we got a few new Cricut cartridges in. We now have Winter Frolic, Happy Hauntings, Rock Princess and Country Life. A few are still available for purchase. Hopefully we'll be getting the Toy Story 3 cartridge soon... we'll keep you posted on that!

CHA follow-up

You're probably all wondering why you haven't heard from us since the last blog post. I'll tell you why... we procrastinated and took longer than necessary to wrap up the show on Thursday (not that we weren't working hard). So, we left there late, had to wait a while for our shuttle back to the hotel to get the car, where I left my wallet (but didn't realize it until later on). We had to stop at Giardano's for pizza (of course), then had to head back to the hotel, when it had now turned into rush hour (plus construction everywhere). Add the 2-hour trip, from the north end of Chicago to the south end, to the semi rollover accident that shut down I-94 both directions in Kalamazoo, and you've got our reason for getting home at 2-3am Friday morning.

In the midst of all of this, I was trying to wrap up plans for my husband's 40th surprise birthday party, which was yesterday. I almost managed to make it a complete surprise... He told me the fact that I was weeding the day before got him wondering. Anyhow, you now have my undivided attention. The girls and I are working on getting the rest of our pictures together so we can share some with you. We're also working on our CHA arrival list so we can give you some idea as to when to expect your favorite new products in the store. Keep an eye on the blog as we get going on these awesome new arrivals!
