The Bus Tour Shop Hop

...finally here and gone. It's amazing when you put so much work into something that lasts a half of a day. Barring some hot, rainy weather, the day was a success. We sold out three buses between the four stores involved. We'll post photos of the event soon on www.MichiganScrapbookStores.com when I get them back from the other stores and bus hostesses. I'm so exhausted after today that I'll leave this message short and post more soon!

LYB Vita Bella and new Books are in...

The new Vita Bella line from Little Yellow Bicycle is gorgeous, and it's here! Some papers are die-cut, some are foiled, and they're all amazing.

We also just received a few new publications this week. We try to stay on top of all the newest books that you're looking for. If there's something you'd like to see us carry, just let us know!

New Basic Grey Euphoria & More are here!

We finally received the Basic Grey new release, Euphoria. Are you euphoric? If so, stop in to check it out soon. I'll be getting it all in the computer today.

Also, SRM Press came out with a new line of clear stickers dedicated to those walking for, fighting, or remembering someone with breast cancer. To top it off, a portion of the profits from the sales of these sticker sets go to the Komen Foundation!

October Afternoon is finally here!

This is a company we ordered at CHA in January, and I thought would never arrive. After some delay, they finally shipped it to us! This company offers adorable paper, rubons, stamps and die cuts. It's definitely vintage office style! We jokingly called the company October Road at the show, and I keep wanting to call it that, but it's Afternoon. Anyway, here's a peek at some of the papers. We're trying to get this (and the other 20 or so boxes) of product all out for this Saturday's Open House.

Is it time for the 60-Second Shopping Spree Giveaway?

You bet it is!!! Time has been flying so fast, especially with the store changes and getting ready for the bus tour, that I almost forgot! Stop in before June 30th to earn an entry for every $25 you spend on merchandise. One lucky winner will win a 60-second shopping spree on Sat 7/5 at 1pm. Of course, the winner has to be present to win on the 5th, so get your entries in and prepare for the Freedom Grab!

For complete contest rules, you can find more info on our website at http://www.scrappychiclivonia.com/freedom_grab.htm. Best of luck!

New Reminisce is here!

We received... count 'em - 7 boxes of paper from Reminisce! They release more themes than I could have imagined! Despite the flooding they're dealing with in Iowa, they managed to get our boxes to us, and we're looking forward to the challenge of entering all those papers in the computer. I'd attach photos, but there would be far too many. So you'll have to stop in and check them out.

By the way, don't forget about our Open House being held this Saturday, 6/21, from 10am to 3pm. Join us for refreshments/snacks, special discounts and giveaways! We plan to have pretty much everything wrapped up from the construction and layout changes. Hope to see you then!

New Cricut Cartridges Announced!

Cricut will be releasing two new cartridges in July. I don't personally own a Cricut, but I have to say... I would buy the whole thing just to use these two cartridges! Wow, did they do a great job! Here are a few images to give you a tease. The first, Storybook, offers some fanciful fonts and beautiful imagery (borders, corners, birds and more)! The other, Graphically Speaking, goes on and on (and on) with tons of images you can use for titles, captions, and more.

I'm happy to say we will be taking pre-orders on both of these cartridges effective immediately! They will each sell for $89.99 (less any loyalty rewards you've earned). Plus, if you are a member of the Cricut Club (you can join any time now), you get 15% off all your Cricut purchases (including these cartridges). Cricut Club membership is $30 for one year, and officially begins July 1st. After that date, the Cricut Club will be the first to know about new releases like these. If you'd like to pre-order one or more of these cartridges, please contact the store.

Store Photos

During and after the flip. We rotated the south part of the store 90 degrees. Don't worry, things are actually easier to find! We kept all the themed paper together, and it looks better - we all agree. Remember, there's still a bit of work to do, so look for finishing touches to be completed soon.

Catching Up...

Whew... has this been a busy work weekend! We got the entire store flipped in a couple days (a record, I'm sure). As I had hoped, the aisles are less congested, and things are a bit easier to find. We still have a bit of work to do finishing off trims, mouldings, some shelving in the new section, etc. But all in all we've made great progress. Next week we'll concentrate on the addition (getting shelving up and organized). I'll have photos posted soon. Stay tuned!

By the way, we received a few deliveries of new products while we were closed yesterday. We got the new Chloe Marie line from Daisy D's, Seaside from Flair Design, SEI's Poppy line, and the new Scrapbook Trends magazine is here. We also have a couple Cricut Tool Sets, but they'll be gone soon, so be quick if you still need one! :)

New Creative Imaginations

We have the new additions to the Narrative lines. These die cut papers are so awesome, we already sold out of the matching sticker sheets in one day! I'm definitely going to have to reorder this stuff soon. But the rest of the papers are die cut, many different patterns in beautiful colors - yummy! We also received some new polka dot (holey) paper - different colors. I also saw we received a new line from Kelly Panacci (Sandylion) that's adorable; all about scrapbooking!

On another note, we're getting ready for our big shift this weekend. As I mentioned, we'll be closed on Monday as we switch around most of the store to its new layout. I'm optimistic, and plan on us completing the project in about 1 1/2 days. Keep your fingers crossed! I'm planning an Open House after the shift is complete, so plan on coming out on Sat 6/21 from 10a-3p... details soon!

We cut a hole...

in the wall to the new part of the store! My Mom and I were sitting at home Sunday morning after breakfast, and just decided we couldn't wait any longer. We wanted to cut a hole between the current store and the addition, so we did! We only got so far when we realized it was time to open the store (as indicated by the few people waiting outside - sorry). But we can't wait to get the rest of the products set up on the other side. We started with the albums, and I was in shock when I realized just how many we had. They didn't look so numerous in the bookcase, but on the wall - well, just see for yourself!

You'll see this in our next newsletter, but we will be closing at 5pm on Sunday 6/8, we'll be closed on Monday 6/9, and not opening until noon on Tuesday 6/10. We're going to be doing some (major) alterations to the store layout, which won't allow us to be open. Sorry for the inconvenience, but wait until it's done... you're going to love it! I'll be keeping you all posted!
