Yard Sale Reminder

Just a friendly reminder... the Scrapbook Yard Sale is this Sunday, Aug. 2nd, from noon to 4pm. This sale is not to be missed! The seller spots are full - almost 100 of them! Sellers will be setting up beginning at 11am, but I have a feeling shoppers will be lining up before noon! We usually try something new at each sale (always trying to make things run smoother) so you could find a couple changes to the shopping and checkout process. We hope you can make it - these deals are not to be missed!

New Dies from QuicKutz are here!

While I was out, we received a whole new batch of QuicKutz dies, and you won't believe the pricing on these! We have the new journaling line of dies and embossing folders (adorable). There are also three new alphabets we'd like to offer you a special on.

Miss Muffet Mini Alphabet - MSRP $49.99. Intro price $29.99!

Teriyaki Grand - Regular MSRP $129.99. Intro price $69.99 (yes you read that right!).

Central Park Classic Complete - Regular MSRP $119.99. Intro price $49.99.

I think Central Park is my favorite, but you decide which is your fave... choose for yourself at the new low price!

Last Day at CHA

Well, today is our last day at the show. We're all packed up (and do I mean packed). We're bringing back some samples and catalogs so we can show you all of the amazing products we picked out for the store. We even ran into a couple of our customers down here (thanks, Jenn, for helping me spend more money). :) Despite the fact that there are far less manufacturers here than usual, we sure are finding some adorable products! Today's goal is to finish up a few orders and win as many prizes as possible (although I don't know how much more our suitcases can take). It's been nice visiting with my family during the show, which I haven't done in a very long time. This has been a fun and productive trip so far, and we can't wait to share our inspiration with everyone back at home! See you on Friday!

We're All Getting Excited!

Today was a productive day at the trade show. We are loaded up with samples and giveaways for the store, and it's only day one! A highlight of our day was talking to Suze Weinberg briefly, and we all share the excitement for learning new crafting techniques. We're all looking forward to her class at the store next month. Katie and I grabbed a picture with Suze while she was demonstrating at the Ranger booth.

We're in Orlando for CHA!

Coming to you... Live! From CHA Orlando (well, it hasn't actually started yet, but soon)! Katie and I made it to the convention center, where she's at - as we speak- taking a class from Tim Holtz! We plan on keeping you posted from Orlando throughout the week so you can all drool about what's new just like we will! Stay tuned...

Weekend Crop was fun... again!

We had a great turnout for our Weekend Crop! There were a lot of prizes to go around, and we had many winners. Our paper bag drawing is always fun, and we had some great prizes... Nancy Evans won a rolling cart, Sharon Crispin (lucky gal these days) won a Mini Clip It Up, and one of our croppers from Lansing won a Clip It Up Ribbon Organizer! There were over 30 other prizes and plenty of scrapbooking all weekend!

New Line from Dream Street Papers

Urban Ink, one of the newest lines from Dream Street, arrived this week. This line is perfect for teen boys, or anything rock! There are cool rub-ons and alphas to match as well.

New QuicKutz Folders arrive just in time!

Our QuicKutz Epic Release Party was today, and we did a fun make & take, had some snacks (always good) and played with some really cool dies and embossing folders! The new QK embossing pocket series arrived this week in time for the party, and we also have a few new Epic 6 Machines (hopefully arriving by the end of this weekend) on their way. For those who pre-ordered, you may pick yours up when they arrive. We will fill pre-orders and those purchasing now until the machines are gone, at which time you can pre-order for our next shipment (expected in August). As we mentioned before, the Epic 6 tool retails for $89.99, but you can purchase yours from Scrappy Chic for $69.99 for a limited time!

Epson PictureMate Dash is Back!

Epson (as they always do) changed up the printers which are available to us, and we now have the Dash back! The Dash is the less-expensive version of the Zoom. It's capable of printing lab-quality photos from a photo card or usb connection (no CD on this one). But it's only $149.99! There are a couple in stock, and we have our Zoom set up for you to look at if you're interested in the printers.

Basic Grey Sneak Peek

Yes, BG is coming out with MORE new stuff! We just love what they produce, and I'm sure the newest lines will be no exception. They sent us this clue as to what will be new... can you guess what the new lines will be called? Post a comment with your thoughts, and if you can guess right, I'll give you a BG prize!

A Few New Things

Even with CHA approaching, we're still receiving new things on a regular basis. We have a new line of glitter paper (much thicker with less shedding) in tons of colors! We also just received the new To the Rescue line from 3 Bugs in a Rug. This is an adorable line perfect for your own little hero! We have our QuicKutz Epic 6 demo machine in the store for you to check out... don't forget about our Demo Party next weekend!

We're Cosmo Happy these Days!

I know, we've posted several links to Cosmo Cricket's blog in the last week, but I'm going to do it one more time! Cosmo Cricket is giving us a chance to win more freebies for our store (which means to give away to you!). Go to their blog today (www.cosmocricket.typepad.com), and leave a comment on today's post about who your favorite LSS is (us, I hope!). The one with the most comments wins crafting kits for the newest lines! Thanks for your support!

Me Likey!

I don't normally say that, but Sassafras Lass' newest line, Me Likey, just arrived. Well, me likey! I hope you'll likey, too (ok, enough of that). We should get it out on the shelf tomorrow for you to ooh and ahh over... classic Sassafras!

A note from a friend...

I received an email from a (long lost) friend that I'd like to share with you because our customers rock! Here it is...

"By the way, you and your wonderful patrons made Kara cry the other day. It was cries of joy and appreciation. I guess another girl we went to high school with went into your store and told people about the most recent disaster that happened to Kara and her family and that was that their basement flooded and she lost everything that was down there including all of her scrapbooking supplies. People pitched in and donated all kinds of stuff to Kara and she was so overwhelmed and grateful that even complete strangers would go out of their way to help her that she didn't even know what to say. So she cried tears of joy for the first time in a really long time. So an extra special thanks to you and your patrons for being such wonderful people that you would make her day like that!!!!"

Thanks, Michelle, for sharing!

Remodel Update

We're almost completely done! I still have a little work to do on our new entry sign, but here are a couple photos of the new counter layout. I'll post more pics when I finish the sign!

Cosmo Cricket Video Sneak Peek Winners

The Cosmo Cricket Sneak Peek Contest ended the other day, and they announced the winners today. What a wonderful surprise... we were a runner up! That means Hailey gets an entire new line from the CHA Summer release, as does the store! Woo hoo! Great idea, and thanks, Hailey, for the idea and for helping us make ourselves look so silly... good times! You can find the blog entry here: Cosmo Cricket Video Sneak Peek Winners

Cosmo Cricket Contest

A couple weeks ago, we blogged about Cosmo Cricket's open call for video submissions. Each new release comes with a comical series of skits. They asked the scrapbooking public to create their own videos to help them with ideas. Hailey, one of our instructors, came up with a funny idea for a video. We whipped it up and submitted it to Cosmo Cricket in the nick of time. It's given me some good chuckles (both for our lack of acting skills and amateur film-making abilities), so I thought I'd share it with all of you. I hope Hailey's idea is chosen as a finalist - it's very creative indeed! If you have trouble viewing the video, you can also find it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4DJeZUQVx8.

Construction Progress

It's coming along... my arm is very sore from faux painting the repaired and added walls (don't know if I'll be doing that again). I think I'll sleep well tonight. There are some other counter pieces to add in, but we're getting there! I have another few hours of painting to do, a cool sign to make, and the construction crew (aka my family) has a few more items to wrap up. But by this weekend, we'll be checking customers out in style (or at least more efficiently). Hope you can all check it out!

A Child's Year Cartridge Arrived

We just got the latest from Provo Craft - the Child's Year cartridge for the Cricut! This one's a keeper, so I have 'em both for sale and for rent. Create silhouettes of tons of images - these would be great on pages, even cards!

On Being Nice...

I was reading the 3/50 blog today (http://alwaysupward.com/blog/the-350-project-on-the-national-airwaves-twice/) about their exposure on national news, and found a link to another great website. Operation NICE: Welcome to Operation NICE! Now, for those of you who know me, you'll probably agree that I'm quite an optimist. You can imagine my surprise when I came across this girl's website dedicated to being nice to others! Reading her original post, I thought, "this is something I would have done". A large part of being successful is being nice, in my opinion. Even in tough times, my Mom has always been a positive, supportive, strong woman. I'll give her credit for passing some of that on to me. I think that, in addition to my experiences with negative situations and people, has made the eternal optimist. My husband and I joke about my ability to look at the glass half full (as he does the opposite). In today's world, one important thing we can do is to be nice to others. Check out the Operation Nice website if you need a pick-me-up. It's full of stories about people just being amazing. I guess our parents were right to tell us to "play nice"!

We also gave a 15-second shopping spree to Maggie Fisher, who gathered $48 worth. I even threw in a 30-second shopping spree... in our clearance area! Sharon Crispin won that, and managed to get $95 in goodies! Congratulations to all of our winners, and a huge thank you goes out to everyone who participated and showed up today! You all rock!
