I think I forgot to mention the newest QK release! They released a few for Black Friday, but a couple are still in transit to us. We have the new Katie cookie cutter alphabet, as well as an adorable little Santa suit (works well with the Paper Doll series or on its own). Hopefully we'll be getting the cupcake holder and calendar set soon!

Black Friday Ads are here!
Scrappy Chic has its own Black Friday flyer this year (so fun), which went out in today's newsletter. You can find it on the news & events link from our website, or click here! It's 2 pages, so you can print it back to back.
We'll have tons of sales throughout the store, but the flyer gives you a good idea of the types of deals there are to be had. There will be something on sale for everyone! We'll be working on setting up some tables on the sales floor to hold all the extra deals. I can't wait!

Who's Studio Calico?
Studio Calico is an online store specializing in monthly kits. They've recently put together a special line of goodies only available at retail stores! We're happy to have ordered this (thanks for the tips and requests, ladies). The new line, Homefront, will arrive on Thursday, so look for it this weekend on the shelf!

New Products this Week
We've had quite the deliveries this week! In addition to getting our stash ready for Black Friday, we received the following new shipments. The new Juliette line from SEI arrived, which is just beautiful! The papers are in soft colors, foils and florals. We also have a few new girly papers and stickers from Creative Imaginations. We just got a new selection of flowers and bling from Creative Charms. Plus, I'm excited to announce we have the new Jenni Bowlin lines - Baby of Mine, Calendar, and guess what? Jenni Bowlin partnered with Core'dinations to come up with an amazing line of their color core cardstock in her paper patterns! I'm so excited to see what is made with this. There's even a bookprint one (my favorite) you can scratch off to reveal a differenct color core underneath! Look for the new Jenni Bowlin products to be out on the shelf this weekend.
Happy Anniversary!!!
Today is our 3rd Anniversary! We are so thankful to a)have the amazing customers we do, b)have such a great team, and c)be in business! I'm very excited as we head into the Holiday season. We appreciate the loyalty we see every day, from customers, friends and family. We wouldn't be where we are without your support. Many thanks to you all!
On that note, I'd like to announce the winners of our Golden Ticket Giveaway! Kathy Johnson of Ypsilanti was our Grand Prize winner! She wins free scrapbooking for a year! We drew three Runner Up winners, who were Diane Lewis, Margaret Elliott and Florence Robert. Some of these ladies don't even know they won yet (we're a little secretive sometimes on answering machines). Congratulations to all of you!

Donna Downey's Visit
I've been feeling very under the weather this week (along with the rest of my family), so I'm not on top of things right now. Here are some pictures of Donna's visit over the weekend. For those who attended classes, I'm so glad to have been able to offer that opportunity! It was truly a crazy weekend between her classes, visitors as well as the Golden Ticket Giveaway. Next weekend we officially celebrate our Anniversary and then we head toward Black Friday. Next thing you know it'll be Christmas! Ok, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. Enjoy the photos!
Santa's Workshop Dies from QuicKutz
I don't think I blogged this yet, but last week QuicKutz released their Santa's Workshop Limited Edition Die Set and Accessories. We had our release party, but still have the sets available while supplies last. When I said not to let the name fool you, I wasn't kidding. This is the coolest set of mini book dies compatible with practically any manual die cutting system! The set contains three different mini book dies, a full alphabet as well as tons of other items like tags, bookplates, and more. Plus, there are tons of accessory dies you can use to add character to your mini books - decorative spines, scalloped pages and more. There is even a recipe set and a heritage set you can use with the mini albums or on other projects - very cool.

Boutique Night in Farmington
The Farmington Area Mom's Club (a group I belong to) is hosting a Boutique Night at the Maxfield Training Center in Farmington on Thursday, 12/3 from 6:30-8:30pm. It's an opportunity for those with home-based businesses to sell, for people to shop and relax (enjoy finger foods, hot chocolate, coffee, pop, etc.). The proceeds of the event will go toward the Club's annual holiday family adoption.
In addition, the FAMC is looking for a vendor who makes handmade greeting cards (for sale) to participate. The cost to rent a 5' table is $10 plus a $10 raffle prize donation. If you are interested, please contact Peggy at pwilke1@twmi.rr.com. I know there are many talented card-makers in our mix!
The Farmington Area Mom's Club is a non-profit organization supporting local moms. You can find more information about the group at www.FarmingtonAreaMomsClub.org. The Maxfield Training Center is located at 33000 Thomas St., Farmington, MI (a couple miles from the store).

Donna Downey's First Class a hit!
The participants left with so many great things to say about Donna's first class tonight! They're filled with creativity, and those coming back to take more classes are so excited! Donna will be at the store throughout the day Saturday teaching classes.
Plus, be sure to stop in after 10am to pick up your specially wrapped treat to see if you've won FREE Scrapbooking for a year! Visit www.ScrappyChicLivonia.com/golden_ticket_09.htm for more info... See you then!
Andrea Deer's Birthday Bash Album = Adorable!
Andrea was here yesterday teaching her Birthday Bash album class, which was adorable. She also brought a bunch of her other work - also adorable. She has other stops in the area planned for the rest of the weekend, http://www.talkingincircles.typepad.com/.

Inkssentials Craft Buckets are in from Ranger!
Perfect timing, since Ranger is our featured manufacturer! Their new Craft Buckets are the coolest thing! Here's what Ranger has to say about it:
The Inkssentials Craft Bucket is a fun and funky tote that can be used as a carry-all for craft tools and supplies or filled with water to clean brushes while painting. It's ready for crops and classes and folds flat for storage. Use several to organize your studio table or shelf. As a paint bucket, utilize one for clean water and one for cleaning brushes.
Yes, it has a waterproof lining! It does fold flat, and has 6 outer pockets. It's about 5" wide x5" deep x 7"high. Small, fun & functional!
We now carry Unity Stamps!
New Thickers, Making Memories
I almost forgot - we have 2 new series of Thickers from American Crafts! These things are adorable (evidence: they're in my tote bag here at home). There are a few new embellishments to match as well.
We are also busy getting the new lines from Making Memories in the computer. Wow - there were more items than I remember ordering at CHA! The new Design Shop series is a new thing for MM - dimensional embellishments for tons of occasions and themes. There are some new Slice MS+ Design Cards, a bunch of blingy stickers and alphas (also adorable) and more! We'll work on having these all on the shelves for this weekend.

Monthly Challenge Correction
Ok folks, apparently I missed an important tidbit in the latest newsletter. In my haste, I forgot to finish the Monthly Challenge section! This month's challenge is to create a project, of any kind, using Ranger products (not bicycles - how funny would that be). Be creative and challenge yourself!

Anniversary Facelift Contest
No, I'm not getting one, but a couple things around the store will be for our Anniversary! Beginning this weekend, you may see us in a new 'uniform'. The girls don't even know this yet... shhh! It's a surprise for them! Secondly, I'd like to update the header on our blog! But because I'm not that great at designing stuff online, I thought I'd throw it out there as a contest! I know there are some of you who are into digital scrapbooking, and are getting good at creating on the computer. So here's the scoop.
I'm still a little new to Blogger, so I'm not sure what the dimensions are supposed to be, but I'll leave that part to you. You know the style of our store, so go to town! See if you can create a winning title/header image for our blog! Email your submissions to chris@scrappychiclivonia.com by the end of November. I can't wait to see what you create! I'll put together a prize package if you can submit what I'm looking for. Good luck!
October Afternoon finally arrived in November!
Well, we hoped to have it in October, but it was close! The two new lines, Farm Fresh and Report Card, are here! October Afternoon is one of my favorites, if I had to choose. These lines don't disappoint. In fact, Julie was drooling over them as she was putting them in the computer. Fortunate for her, they come wrapped in plastic. :)

Updates...
I feel like I haven't posted anything in a while! Truth be told, I've been knee-deep in revamping my home office/craft room. It was so out of order, it was scary to be in. With the help of a professional organizer, I added some furniture to create more workspace and storage, which helped separate the room into 2 areas - one for working, and one for crafting! It's so nice in here I don't want to leave now.
Back to reality, we have such a busy month! Here are some updates on what we have going on this week:
- Tomorrow, Tues 11/3 at 7pm - QuicKutz Santa's Workshop New Release Event! Join us for demos, make & takes and a look at the latest and greatest limited edition set from QK! This set is so cute I wish I could tell you what it is... you'll have to see for yourself tomorrow.
- Thurs 11/5 - Andrea Deer teaching her Birthday Bash album at 6pm - seats still open.
- Fri 11/6 - Donna Downey teaching her Bloom Mixed Media Album class, as well as regular cropping.
- Sat 11/7 - Pick up your specially wrapped treat beginning at 10am to see if you have a Golden Ticket! Only the first 200 shoppers (1 per adult, please) receives a chance to enter, and everybody gets something (plus chocolate... mmmm). Donna teaches her Celebrate Life layout class and her much-anticipated Fabric Album class! She'll be available between classes for photo opportunities - we'll print the photo out for you while you shop!
- Sun 11/8 - Donna teaches her Swatches class - a great compliment to the Fabric Scrapbooking class! We'll also have regular cropping available.
Remember, if you take more than one class from Donna, you'll get a $10 store gift card to spend on whatever you like! Seats are still available, so call if you'd like to sign up. Hope to see you all this week!
