Saturday 10/4 is World Card-Making Day!

Join us for some card-making fun! Stop in to make 5 for $5 - that's right - only $1 per card! Choose from several different occasion cards designed by the girls. But supplies are limited, so get 'em while they last! We'll be open at 10am on Saturday.

New Zutter is here along with new SEI

We got the new Zutter Bind-it-All! It's pink, and it's improved with a couple new features. There's more in the box from Zutter, but I haven't looked in it yet.

We also received two new lines from SEI. These double-sided specialty papers are gorgeous! I took a few sheets home from the Alpine Frost line hoping to create my holiday cards! Their Oasis paper and embellishments are also beautiful - I'd love to make a mini book with those!

New Heidi Swapp & Tim Holtz arrived!

Heidi's new Street Smarts (cool boy) and Dream Dining Room lines are finally here! There are new florals, masks, and more from Heidi and Tim (you've got to see these). Plus, there are new Fragments from Tim Holtz (different shapes). We received more keys and keyholes (some must-have items for altered books).

I can't forget the new Cropper Hopper Craft Binder with sticker inserts - they're a good size for any craft.

Basic Grey Class/Breast Cancer Fundraiser

Have you seen how adorable the album is that I'm teaching on Sunday? I wish I could take credit for creating it, but that goes to Basic Grey. It's probably the most detailed mini album I've ever done, and it was worth the effort. There's a sample in the store I made, and I'm hoping to get a few more people to sign up for a great cause. Part of the $35 class fee goes directly toward our ScrapPink efforts for the weekend - raising money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The class will be Sunday 9/28 at 2pm. I hope you'll join me!

3-Day Question

I know we have some customers who will be walking in the Breast Cancer 3-Day next week. I'm hoping to find out if the walk will be passing Scrappy Chic again. If you know, please send me a message or give us a call. I'd love to put out some supportive banners!

I will also be offering walkers a discount on their purchase for a week following the walk. Just flash your badge from the walk, and you'll get 15% off your purchase through Sat 10/4!

What did I do?

I've been meaning to streamline our website (still in its original format) for some time now. With a little help from Elayne, I got motivated, but it still sat on the computer to be done. For some reason, I decided tonight was the night to get started. I still have some aesthetic things to complete on the website, but I think it's much more functional. I hope you like it! I've checked most of the links to make sure everything functions, but please let me know if you come across something that doesn't work properly (after all, it's 1:30am, and things are a little foggy at this hour).

More Basic Grey

We have more Basic Grey in! This shipment (hooray) contains their new chocolate chipboard and gorgeous stamps! There are albums, alphas and more! The rest of the rub-ons and embellishments also should be in there for the few new lines we received a few weeks ago. We should have it all out by this weekend for you to enjoy!

More New Prima

Prima isn't just flowers any more. They've got some pretty darn cool stuff! We just got another shipment from our show order, and it's got a bunch of glitter transparencies, acrylic book pieces, stamps, velvet leaves, and (of course) some new flowers. One of the bottles of flowers would go perfectly with Basic Grey Boxer paper (I've got my eye on one).

I'm in Hog Heaven!

Hedgehogs... the new Sassafras Lass lines arrived today, and among them are Hog Heaven, Fawnd of You, Woodland Whimsy and Happy Place (where I am). Looking at these double-sided papers in person is more than I imagined. If you like their last release, you will absolutely love this one (even more).

On another happy note, my most favorite products from CHA finally arrived! We just got the new Sheer Delights (very delightful) from KI Memories. When I first saw these, they reminded me of placemats. Up close, they are amazing! They are about the thickness of cardstock, but transparent (with a little frost). Of course, they have die-cut edges and beautiful patterns - and scrapbook safe!

With all that said, I was so happy when I got here today and saw all of these! I thought it couldn't get any better. But it did! We also received the new papers and Glitter Cuts from Fancy Pants! It's like my top CHA picks all decided to ride in together! I hope you enjoy them too.

Anna Griffin Holiday is beautiful...

and is in stock! Her new Georgette collection is a mixture of metallics, but very subtle (and so pretty)! The Holiday papers are starting to roll in, giving everyone a bigger selection with which to make holiday cards (yes, starting already).

Scrapbook Yard Sale

Apparently I neglected to mention our Yard Sale in the last newsletter, so I wanted to give everyone a head's up who hadn't heard yet. Our next Scrapbook Yard Sale will be Sun 10/5 from noon to 5pm. We are planning on doing something a little different this time around. Instead of limiting sellers based on our crop room capacity, we have arranged to use a vacant unit in our building for the sale. With this change comes a small fee. We will be deducting a $3 fee from each seller at the end of the sale (it will come off the gift card). While this is minimal, we're just covering some expenses in using the other space. We're always looking for ways to improve the sale, and this one is no exception. Even though we're planning on a larger sale, we've got some updates planned to keep things running smooth. So if you're interested in selling, please contact the store to be assigned a seller code. Sellers will be able to set up their goods between 11am and noon on that day. Sellers are responsible for removing their unsold goods or choosing to donate them. Pick up is between 5 and 6pm. Sellers will have until Monday to pick up unsold items, but after that we will no longer have access to the other building, and are limited on storage space. Spread the word - the more buyers the better! We'll also be advertising the sale to increase sale awareness. So sellers, get pricing!

We did it!

We won Best Arts & Crafts store!!! I love you guys! I couldn't be happier, and I have our wonderful customers to thank for it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I think that sums it up!

I just looked on WDIV's website, and it looks as though they'll be announcing the Shopping category winners tomorrow! I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

Collage Press Arrived

The new Collage Press lines, Camden and Jackson Lodge, are finally here! These double-sided papers and journaling card pages are awesome! I wish I had pictures to post, but I can't get them from their website. But you can find images in their catalog on www.collagepress.typepad.com.

New Kelly Panacci and more!

I absolutely love the new Kelly Panacci His/Hers papers! These adorable man/woman themed papers and stickers are her newest release from Sandylion.

We also received their new Hannah Montana and High School Musical paper (yes, paper) and stickers. My kids aren't old enough to be fans yet, but if they were - they'd be in luck!

Oh, and I can't forget... we just received 2 new books from Creating Keepsakes: Joy of Scrapbooking and Joy of Card Making (Collector's Edition).

New, new, new...

Wow, have a holiday weekend, and all new products pour in the next week! We've got new Cosmo Cricket, including Mr. Campy, Jack's World and Haunted. More Scenic Route Sonoma came in as well. Plus (drum roll)... the new Frightful Collection from Little Yellow Bicycle is here!!!

I looked in another box we just put in the computer from Creative Imaginations, and I think I've seen my favorite Halloween paper yet! Plus, there's new boy papers, school, Marah Johnson, Art Warehouse and more! We're working on getting it all on the shelf before the weekend.
